Despite having its headquarters in North Texas, the Dallas Cowboys’ support base is actually nationwide, if not internationally.

Because of this, the Cowboys can always rely on a strong supporter base, even when they’re not playing at AT&T Stadium. Sometimes, Cowboys supporters can even overrun rival stadiums, giving the game a more homegrown atmosphere.

In advance of Sunday’s game at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte against the Cowboys, the Carolina Panthers are making every effort to be ready for that scenario. Panthers coach Frank Reich disclosed on Friday that his group has rehearsed utilizing a silent count in the event that Cowboys supporters seize control.

Reich told reporters, “I think everyone knows how well Dallas travels.” “The supporters of other teams like visiting our wonderful city…. Either way, we’re ready.”

Naturally, the situation is usually reversed, with the road team having to settle with silent counts in front of an irate home crowd. It’s not shocking that the roles have switched here, though, considering where these two teams are at.

In addition to being a lot younger team than the Cowboys and having had less time to build a fan base, the Panthers play in a considerably smaller market. Furthermore, Carolina has been in poor form for the previous few years. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2017, and with their NFL-worst 1-8 record this season, their postseason drought will only get longer. Dallas, meanwhile, is winning 6-3 and appears ready to return to the postseason.

Since any team can upset another in the NFL, the Cowboys certainly can’t ignore the Panthers, but it would be great to see their supporters take over in Charlotte.
