A new contract that will keep Rangers winger Ross McCausland at the team through the summer of 2027 has been signed.
After Philippe Clement took over last month, the nine Rangers outings for the Northern Ireland international, who received his first cap in November, have come from that point on.
At the conclusion of this season, the 20-year-old’s previous contract was supposed to expire.
A “massive Rangers supporter,” McCausland said there was “no doubt in my mind” about making a long-term commitment.
He continued, “I’m extremely grateful to the new manager for giving me an opportunity in recent weeks, and I want to repay him and everyone at the club with my performances on the pitch in the years to come.”
In 2019, McCausland transferred to the Rangers academy after beginning his youth career at Linfield.
With more than 40 matches under his belt, the dynamic wide player has contributed five assists and nine goals to the Ibrox club’s B squad.
When used this phrase, he has been a bright spot in Clement’s offense despite not having scored or assisted for the senior team.
The manager, Clement, stated: “I think Ross deserves this new contract and I am really happy with his recent progress.”
“Ross is a talented young player and I think it is an important step from the club to move to secure his future here.”
