Dennis Allen reports that Derek Carr is still included in the concussion protocol, despite the fact that he was present at Saints practice on Wednesday.
Despite suffering his second concussion in three games, Derek Carr was able to participate in the Saints’ practice on Wednesday and throw the ball. This was the most important thing that came out of the session. The fact that he is currently participating in the concussion protocol is almost as encouraging a sign as it is possible to get for him moving forward; nonetheless, he still has some challenges to overcome. This is how the initial injury report for New Orleans for Week 14 appears, with 15 players being classified as injured at the beginning of the report.
Wednesday’s injury report for the Saints in Week 14 did not include the following: All of the following players were injured: Isaiah Foskey (quadriceps), Taysom Hill (foot/left hand), Cam Jordan (ankle), Marcus Maye (shoulder), Kendre Miller (ankle), and Rashid Shaheed (thigh).
Those who are limited include Derek Carr (concussion/rib/right shoulder), Jimmy Graham (non-injury rest), Juwan Johnson (quadricep), Erik McCoy (shoulder), Andrus Peat (shoulder), Ryan Ramczyk (non-injury rest/knee), Pete Werner (shoulder/oblique), and Blake Grupe (right groin).
A number of players, including Maye, Hill, Shaheed, Miller, Foskey, Ramczyk, Graham, Jordan, and Roach, were not seen during the open portion of practice that was made available to the media on Wednesday. According to Allen, the evaluation of Hill is going to take place at some point during the course of the week, and Shaheed is getting closer and closer to coming back.
