Christian Watson, a wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, is taking his recuperation day by day. He believes that his hamstring injury is not as bad as the one that prevented him from starting the regular season in 2023. However, the injury is to the same hamstring, which is located on the right side, and he is handling it “day by day.”
According to what Watson said on Thursday, “Obviously, you have to be smart with it.” One must simply take things one day at a time.
Watson, who suffered an injury on a rushing play during the fourth quarter of the game against the Kansas City Chiefs the previous Sunday, stated that he felt a “grab” on his hamstring as he attempted to cut up field. It was difficult for him to deal with the agony and the emotional toll of another injury at the time, but he is doing better now. He added that the pain was difficult to deal with.
“I was simply plain angry…After dealing with something for the second time, it was difficult,” Watson remarked. When compared to how it felt the day before and the day following, it is feeling a great deal better today.
Watson did not participate in practice on Thursday, and it is highly improbable that he will play in the game against the New York Giants on Monday night. He promised that he would not come back until he was at or very close to 100 percent.
The statement that Watson made was, “At this point, I’m trying to get back as quickly as I possibly can.”
In order to assist in the prevention of injuries, Watson stated that he has spent “tens of thousands” of dollars. In order to ensure that no one part of his body is overworked, he recommended strengthening his hips, back, and knees. However, he is also a long, dynamic athlete with peak speed, which means that hamstring and other soft-tissue injuries may be unavoidable.
Over the course of the past three weeks, Watson has set a new record for the most touchdown passes caught in the National Football League (NFL) with four. During the Chiefs’ victory, which was by a score of 27-19, he scored two touchdowns.
The final games of the season for the Packers include contests against the Chicago Bears, the Giants, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Carolina Panthers, and the Minnesota Vikings alongside the Giants. Watson would miss at least four games if he were to go on injured reserve; however, he only missed three games to start the season, and it is anticipated that this injury would not be as bad as the others.
