After relisting their opulent beachfront Mediterranean-style estate in Palm Beach, Florida, for $35.9 million last week, fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and his spouse, Dee Ocleppo, are trying again to sell it.
When they attempted to sell the house in September of last year, they did so with a $39.7 million asking price, which was later reduced to $37.9 million. Afterwards, the house was withdrawn off the market.
The couple, who paid $21 million for the over 5,000-square-foot property in June 2021, stands to make a handsome profit even with the reduced price. Their records on PropertyShark indicate that
The estate has been “beautifully updated with light and bright interiors and spectacular architectural details throughout,” according to the listing with Christian Angle of Christian Angle Real Estate, which was featured in Architectural Digest. Martyn Lawrence Bullard designed the interiors. Christian Angle Real Estate did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The house includes a columned loggia with views of the Intracoastal Waterway, a spacious internal courtyard with arches and a majestic fireplace, a summer kitchen, and a pool area with tropical planting.
Three bedrooms, including the master suite with a sitting room and two balconies overlooking the lake, a formal dining room, a family room, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, and cypress ceilings in the formal living room with a coral stone fireplace are also included.
Last year, Hilfiger told Architectural Digest, “I really like living on the water.” “It’s a whole different type of lifestyle, especially coming from New York and the northeast. We have jet skis and a dock.”
The Hilfigers are no strangers to high-profile real estate transactions; they could not be reached for comment.
They bought a another Mediterranean-style house in Palm Beach for $36.85 million in January, put it up for sale in February, and sold it for about $41.4 million in May of this year.
The couple sold their Greenwich, Connecticut, mansion for $45 million in 2021. The same year, they also sold a quirky mansion in Golden Beach, Florida, for $24 million, which included scratch-and-sniff wallpaper. Finally, in 2018, they sold another Mediterranean estate in Palm Beach for a substantial $35 million, according to Mansion Global.
The 72-year-old Hilfiger launched his own fashion label in 1985. It was reportedly sold by him in 2006 for $1.6 billion.
