Although there had been some speculation that Darren Waller and his wife Kelsey Plum are divorcing, the tight end for the New York Giants claims he was merely playing around on social media.
Earlier this week, Waller posted a video to TikTok showing himself lip-reading a mashup of a breakup song. He used an emoticon of a happy and crying female to caption the video, “When ya girl bout to leave you.” Waller wrote, “Stay strong kings!!! #fyp #explore #men #heartbroken #music #vibes” in the caption.
Plum, a player for the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA, and Waller tied the knot in the previous year. Waller claimed to TMZ on Tuesday that he and Plum are happy, despite the appearance of turmoil in paradise in his video.
The 31-year-old Waller expressed astonishment at how many people misinterpreted the video, saying he was only having some fun with a mix of The Delfonics’ song “Think it Over.”Plum got to know Waller while he was a player for the Raiders in Las Vegas. Plum even made a crude joke following Waller’s trade in the previous season. As far as Waller is concerned, the marriage is not in trouble.
