The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed to hire Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach after his nine-year stint as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines football team. Harbaugh, who led the Wolverines to their first national championship since 1997, is considered a football personified coach by Chargers owner Dean Spanos.
Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh has won ten championships and four Big Ten East Championships. He previously coached the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014, winning 44 games and two NFC West titles. Harbaugh expressed his love for Michigan and his loyalty to the Wolverines, stating that his coaching experiences have created strong personal connections and made him feel at home in Michigan.
The Chargers are seeking Harbaugh to lead them to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994, following the firing of Brandon Staley after a poor start.
