The New York Giants Have A Void To Fill At Defensive Coordinator. Here Are Three Candidates Worthy Of The Title.

Wink Martindale, former defensive coordinator for the New York Giants, left the organization after two seasons. The defense struggled, leading to a playoff-less season. The team needs a new defensive coordinator to improve their performance and handle Daboll’s interactions. The NFL’s coaching staff changes annually, and some notable names could elevate the defense.

Three Candidates for the Next Giants Defensive Coordinator

Dennard Wilson – Defensive Backs Coach/Baltimore Ravens

Dennard Wilson is the first defensive backs coach for the Baltimore Ravens, having previously worked with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Ravens currently rank fifth in passing yards per game, while the Eagles were ranked first. Wilson’s hiring could potentially improve the team’s performance.

Bobby Babich – Linebackers Coach/Buffalo Bills

Bobby Babich, a defensive backs coach with the Bills since 2017, has coached linebackers and Matt Milano to First-Team All-Pro selection. With head coach Sean McDermott, Babich could be promoted as Giants defensive coordinator, reunited with Brian Daboll.

Jerome Henderson – Defensive Backs Coach/New York Giants

Jerome Henderson, defensive backs coach, is currently on staff despite a new head coach. Henderson’s in-house hiring allows for a less drastic defense makeover. The unit has seen significant contributions from free agent acquisitions Jason Pinnock and Deonte Banks. Safety Xavier McKinney played 100% of snaps, making Henderson the correct fit for the team.
