Michael Penix Jr. and the Washington Huskies were close to achieving glory, but their 2023-24 season ended with a 34-13 loss against the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines’ defense dominated Washington, causing Penix Jr. to struggle with multiple hits, sacks, and interceptions.Penix Jr. suffered more emotionally from a brutal beatdown than physically, admitting it took him a few days to recover. He expressed pride in his team and coaches for believing in them despite external doubts.The Huskies had an impressive season, winning against No. 8 Oregon, No. 20 USC, No. 18 Utah, and No. 11 Oregon State, and overcoming No. 3 Texas in the CFP Semifinal.

Washington’s epic season was short-lived, but Penix Jr. expressed pride in the team’s accomplishments and the work put in to reach that point, despite the disappointment of falling short.
