The Green Bay Packers have fired defensive line coach Jerry Montgomery, who was the longest-tenured coach on the team’s staff. Montgomery, who was previously under contract for 2024, was either fired or the team “mutually parted ways” with him. The Packers hired new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley.Montgomery is set to interview with the New England Patriots for a staff opening, but no details have been provided on the addition of a defensive line coach.

Jason Rebrovich, a former linebackers coach, is set to have an elevated role on Hafley’s staff. The Packers have hired Sean Mannion, a retired NFL quarterback, as a coaching position. Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur hopes Tom Clements, a retired quarterback, will return to the team. Mannion is likely joining as a quality control or assistant quarterbacks coach rather than an outright quarterbacks coach.
