ORLANDO: This summer, the Philadelphia Eagles have already made some significant changes at both coordinator positions. The most recent addition is the hire of Kellen Moore, a former offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers, to take over in Philly.
bit we’ll have to wait a bit for the outcomes of Moore’s hiring to speak for themselves, why not find out what Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning feels about the decision in the interim?
The great quarterback praised the Eagles for hiring Moore when he spoke to the media on Sunday at the Pro Bowl.
Manning declared, “I like Kellen.” Naturally, I’ve known Kellen since our college days, and he visited our football camp. We’ve been in touch, and to be honest, I believe he’s a talented player-caller. Every year, the offseason brings with it changes, but I think Jalen will enjoy playing for him, and I like Nick’s system, so I imagine there will be a combination of what Nick and Kellen want to accomplish. As long as you’re working together on that, though, I think the focus needs to be on Jalen and his preferences, and I think the Eagles made a good hire.
Hurts and the offense benefit from Moore’s quarterback-friendly mentality. Moore was a standout quarterback for Boise State before forging a successful playing career with the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys.
Hurts and former Eagles offensive coordinator Brian Johnson developed a close bond as a result of Johnson’s comparable experience. Still, Moore’s record to date is superior at this stage of his career. The Eagles may see significant progress in that area if he can center the strategy around Hurts, as Manning stated.
If Manning’s evaluation of Moore is accurate, only time will tell, but it’s difficult to find a more important endorsement in the NFL.
