In 2024, the Ravens will have a running back on their hands. It’s possible that Gus Edwards may go in free agency, thus Baltimore will need to bring in some extra people. Do they see themselves as former Steelers?

Le’Veon Bell, a former running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, last participated in an NFL play in 2021. Additionally, he now states that his goal is to return in 2024.

Bell revealed on social media that he plans to make a comeback and that he has just “one team” he wants to play for. Bell told SI.com, “I won’t start training until like March.” And I have to be honest with myself—I have to step out there and declare that I’m going to make a move. Can I sense it? Do I injure myself? Is it possible for me to return to playing outside?

“And bro, let me tell you something right now: if I decide to return to the NFL in April after going out there to train in March, you can count on me to be better than I’ve ever been. And I’m only going to return for that one squad. Everyone is aware of who it is. Saying “no team” is not necessary. Everyone is aware of who it is.

Which team is he talking about?

During his NFL career, the Michigan State Spartan played for five teams, spending a brief time in 2021 with the Ravens. After being selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, he also had time with the Jets, Chiefs, and Buccaneers. He played five seasons with the Steelers before missing all of 2018 because of a contract dispute.

Given that he played much of his career in Pittsburgh, he’s most likely discussing that city. Bell was named an All-Pro in his second season with the Steelers, despite having more than 2,200 scrimmage yards.

Due to a contract disagreement, Bell missed the whole 2018 season. The following year, he became a free agency and inked a four-year, $52.5 million contract with the Jets. After being cut during the 2020 campaign, he played with the Chiefs until the end of the season, then spent time in 2021 between the Ravens and the Bucs.

Bell spent some time in the boxing ring in 2022 and 2023 but did not play in the NFL. Will Bell be of interest to any teams? Before the season begins on February 18, he will be 32 years old, which is advanced age for a running back in the NFL. especially one that hasn’t experienced a successful season in more than five years.

The Ravens might be intrigued. Most likely not, unless he’s merely an invitation to camp that they can assess. Would the Pittsburgh Steelers let him go back? the depends on how far Bell has burned the bridge. However, I would not wager on it.
