Arthur Smith, the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and a former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, was appointed by the Steelers as their new offensive coordinator last week. One of Smith’s former teammates audibly praised the choice, which drew mixed reviews from the fan base.On The Rich Eisen Show, Taylor Lewan, a former offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans and current co-host of Bussin’ With The Boys, audibly praised Smith.

Lewan stated, “Arthur Smith is the reason we made it to the 2019 AFC Championship Game.” “He will enter the game and relieve pressure from the quarterback, whoever that player may be. When the season is over, Najee Harris is the one who will be the happiest with his role in that offense.

Smith’s use of his best players in 2023—or lack thereof—has drawn the most criticism. It is a reasonable factor and justification for refusing the job. Nonetheless, the Titans were sixth in the NFL in terms of EPA per play and ninth in the league in terms of points per game during the 2019 season, which saw Tennessee get to within one game of the Super Bowl.
