Judd Trump defeated Si Jiahui 10–5 at the Tempodrom on Sunday, and he was awarded the £80,000 champion’s check. With this victory, he has now won four ranking championships this season, to go along with his previous victories in the Northern Ireland, Wuhan, and English Opens.

Top 16

The top 16 players on the rolling, two-year snooker rankings list haven’t changed especially.

Due to Ronnie O’Sullivan’s absence from last week’s competition, Trump has closed the gap with him at the top of the rankings.

The two Englishmen who have been this campaign’s standout performances are separated by little over £100,000 in value.

Luca Brecel and Mark Allen, who both lost in the opening rounds of the German Masters, are still in third and fourth place, respectively.

Completing the top eight are Mark Williams, Neil Robertson, Shaun Murphy, and Mark Selby.

Ding Junhui drops two spots to tenth in the elite category of the rankings, which is the only change.

Thus, following his run to the semi-finals, Kyren Wilson climbs back up to ninth, and quarterfinalist Ali Carter also returns to the top ten.

In the remaining 16 places, John Higgins, Zhang Anda, Robert Milkins, Barry Hawkins, and Gary Wilson remain unaltered.

Jack Lisowski is still in 17th place, just below the cut-off, ahead of Tom Ford, Ryan Day, and Hossein Vafaei.

They will be leading the group of players chasing the title, with the goal being to enter the top 16 in time to secure a spot in the World Snooker Championship automatically this year.

Si Jiahui, 21, has moved up to number 24 in the world rankings after an outstanding week that included a first-ever ranking final.

After playing in his first semi-final, Sam Craigie moves up three spots to number 47.

Head for the Players Championship

In the competition for the Players Championship, the German Masters served as the penultimate counting event.

Telford later in February will only be accessible to the top 16 players on the one-year snooker rankings list, which is determined by their results in ranking tournaments this season.

On the one-year list, Judd Trump leads with over half a million pounds in earnings from ranking tournaments thus far this year.

The Englishman will undoubtedly compete in the Players Championship alongside players like Ding Junhui, Mark Williams, Ronnie O’Sullivan, and Zhang Anda.

Chris Wakelin, Zhou Yuelong, and Noppon Saengkham are the final three people standing.

Zhou, however, is not among those who have made it to the Welsh Open, the final qualifying tournament before the highly lucrative Players Championship, which takes place next week.

After a great week in Germany, where he finished 16th with about £10,500 off Wakelin, Si Jiahui is the closest rival.

With a champion’s cheque worth £80,000 up for grabs in Wales, most of the tour players will still have the opportunity to try one final time to place in the top 16 on the one-year list.

A few of the well-known figures that need deep runs at the Venue Cymru are Neil Robertson, Luca Brecel, Shaun Murphy, and Kyren Wilson.

The European Series

Judd Trump has already assured himself of the £150,000 extra, despite the fact that the German Masters was only the penultimate event on the European Series.

The prize is awarded to the top earner following eight ranking events sponsored by BetVictor during the campaign.

It includes the Snooker Shoot Out, the German Masters, the European Masters, the four Home Nations events, and the Championship League ranking event format.

Trump has an unstoppable lead at the top of the snooker rankings after winning three of the seven events thus far and making it to the final of another.

Therefore, the race in the European Series this season will not be affected by the forthcoming Welsh Open.

Trump has now won the award three times in the last five years, demonstrating his general consistency during that time.
