J.J. Watt mentioned contemplating a return to the NFL with the Steelers or Texans on Thursday’s “last call.” It appears that Pittsburgh will hire a coordinator for the passing game in the future. The NFLPA disagrees with the restriction on hip-drop tackles.

What was Watt thinking?

Future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt stated on Wednesday’s “Pat McAfee Show” that he was “monitoring” the Steelers’ injury situation in 2023 and considered ending his retirement and playing again alongside his brother, T.J.”I was definitely keeping an eye on the situations with the Steelers and Texans, but it never really got to the point where there was real concern,” Watt stated. It truly would have been a dream come true. My brother would have been a terrific player. Realistically speaking, though, they were all set. They have excellent players.Despite prodding from McAfee and the other guys on the show to maintain the notion of a comeback, Watt now claims to be truly retired. When the elder Watt returned to see T.J. at an Acrisure Stadium game, it seems like he was experiencing envy over participating.

The moment Watt says, “I was like, ‘This is the first time I definitely miss playing,'” was when he visited T.J. in Pittsburgh and saw him getting ready for the game.

Those feelings were fleeting, though.

Before the game, I experienced all of those feelings. The following morning, he woke up hurt and bruised, needing to go seek treatment, among other things. I got up, took a coffee, and went for a stroll. It was excellent. Watt chuckled, “I don’t have any of those things.”

Arth and Arthur

Tom Arth is being interviewed by the Steelers for a passing-game role, as reported by Aaron Wilson of NFL Insider. They have never had a coach with that designation on their staff.

The 42-year-old Arth plays pass game specialization for the Los Angeles Chargers. Thus, he collaborated with Justin Herbert. Their current coaching staff has changed, with Jim Harbaugh replacing Brandon Staley.

Arth was the head coach of the Akron Zips for three seasons, from 2019 to 2021, before to moving to Los Angeles. In addition, he was head coach at Chattanooga and his alma institution, John Carroll. His record is 52–45 overall.

Arth played for a while with the Packers and Colts. In addition, he played in the Arena Football League, NFL Europe, and the CFL.

Good night all-around

The Duquesne women’s basketball team achieved several firsts and a victory on Wednesday night.

At UMass, the Dukes prevailed 79–62. Their record in Atlantic 10 play is now 14-9, 9-3. After six games, Dan Burt’s club has now won five of them.

Massachusetts lost to 1-11 in the A-10 and 3-21 overall.

Guards Megan McConnell and Naelle Bernard also achieved a milestone in their collegiate careers during the game: 1,000 points each.
