When future Hall of Famer J.J. Watt stated earlier this week that he “definitely was monitoring” the circumstances surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans during the previous season, many were taken aback as he contemplated maybe coming out of retirement.

Superstar pass rusher for the Pittsburgh Steelers, T.J. Watt, acknowledged in an interview with Ryan Morik of Fox News Digital that he considered getting his brother to wear a black-and-gold shirt when the team was 7-7 in the middle of December. After 2022, J.J. Watt announced his retirement, and in September of this year, he said he enjoyed “waking up feeling great” because he was no longer on the active football roster. The Wisconsin native, 34, who was inducted into the Texans Ring of Honor on October 1st, has previously stated he may have played for the Green Bay Packers for a season but chose to prioritize his health.”I think, in hindsight, he’s happy he didn’t have to come back and deal with all the soreness and things,” T.J. Watt said. “He’s not living a bad life at all.”

Aside from the football field, J.J. Watt is very busy because he is a minority stakeholder in Burnley, an English Premier League team. In January, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post stated that Watt “could have a bigger role” on “The NFL Today” program next season “if he wants it.” Watt is also an NFL commentator for CBS Sports.

But given that the Steelers made the playoffs, one has to wonder if J.J. Watt is regretting not playing with his brother for a cup of coffee. A 31-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills in the wild-card round marked the end of Pittsburgh’s postseason run.Regarding the possibility that three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt could call Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin this summer, the player said this week on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he is “1,000% done” playing.
