Skip Schumaker is a former professional baseball player and current manager. Born on November 4, 1979, in Torrance, California, Schumaker played as an infielder and outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2005 to 2015. He was known for his versatility and defensive skills. Over his career, he played for the St. Louis Cardinals, the Philadelphia Phillies, the San Diego Padres, and the Cincinnati Reds.

 

Schumaker was a key part of the Cardinals’ 2006 World Series championship team. After retiring as a player, he transitioned into coaching and managerial roles. In 2023, he was appointed as the manager of the Cincinnati Reds. His management style is noted for emphasizing team cohesion and defensive fundamentals, reflecting his own strengths as a player.
