PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping their quarterback in 2023 will be between Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. But head coach Mike Tomlin understands Rudolph is a free agent and the business side of things in the NFL could force a change. That change could be who the Steelers put against Pickett this summer to compete as a starter. Tomlin admitted he hopes Rudolph returns to the Steelers in 2024, but knows he’s heading into free agency, where anything can happen. andquot;It is,andquot; Tomlin said he hopes to re-sign Rudolph. andquot;But he’s a free agent and she’s a free agent, so we’ll see where it takes us.andquot;

If he goes elsewhere, the Steelers will look for another option through free agency and the NFL draft.
