Saquon Barkley is one of those NFL players whose fans just haven’t seen him in enough big moments because the New York Giants have been a bad football team so far in his six-year career. The super-talented defenseman will likely be on the market for the first time, and fans will soon be blessed to see one of the league’s greatest naturals play for another team..

That’s because the Penn State alum is finally open to playing for another team after previously saying he wanted to be a New York Giants forever. Here’s more Pro Football Talk.Barkley says he thought of himself as a Giant for life early in his career, but when he got the franchise tag last season, he realized it was a win-win deal and leaving might be the best deal for him..

“Yeah, it didn’t occur to me until last year when I was recognized. Until then, I really believed that I would end my career as a New York Giant. You know, that was my goal. And here I am. Have so much respect for the Mara family and the Tisch family and all members of the Giants organization, Barkley told Complex.com. “They know that, but when you get down to it and you go through the contract negotiations and you go through the tagging process, you realize how big a business it is. And I remember the vets always telling me that, and you know I do. believed them, but you never know until you get through it. Could I see myself in another uniform then? Yes, it is possible.”.

It would be a welcome sight for NFL fans because when healthy, Barkley is incredible. After dominating his first two years in the league, injuries hampered him in 2020 and 2021. However, he was phenomenal in 2022 and followed that up with a strong 2023 campaign in a rotten Giants offense. Saquon Barkley had over 1,200 yards rushing and added 12 touchdowns, by far the most consistent player on the G’s offense. So, who could compete with Saquon Barkley? The biggest threat to me would be the Houston Texans. They can afford to spend, and he would look great alongside CJ Stroud if they go win-now mode, with Stroud having four years left on his rookie contract. The New England Patriots might make sense financially, but I’m not sure Barkley would want to sign there because they’re not built to compete for the next year or two.The big wild card is the Philadelphia Eagles. Barkley’s home team needs to explode this offseason. It seems like they were not enamored by Deandre Swift this year, considering his usage seemed to not be as much as it should have been given his talent. Saquon would fit in nicely with Jalen Hurts and the rest of the Eagles as they look to rebound from a terrible finish to the season..
