Johan Bakayoko, a target for Liverpool, will be sold by PSV during the summer transfer window, according to Earnie Stewart, the director of football of the team.

According to a report in Voetbalkrant, Anfield is showing “concrete interest” in 20-year-old Bakayoko, who is now valued at approximately €40 million (£34 million) and has a contract that expires in 2026.

The Reds are not the only team interested in the Eindhoven-based player; Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be keeping a close eye on one of the up-and-coming players in Belgian football.

In the past 12 months, Bakayoko has made a name for himself in Domenico Tedesco’s Red Devils squad, and he appears destined for a major part in this summer’s European Championship in Germany.

PSV declined to invest in their best potential this winter, and he could become much more expensive if he performs well at the European Championship.

This season, he has made 33 appearances for PSV in all competitions, tallying 13 assists and six goals.

PSV leads the Eredivisie by a wide margin this season; they have only lost two games and are still unbeaten in the Dutch top division.

They have also advanced to the Champions League knockout phase, where they will take on Borussia Dortmund.

When asked if he believed Bakayoko will be at the Philips Stadion for the upcoming season, Stewart responded, “No, I don’t think so,” in an interview with the Dutch television program Studio Voetbal.

“Johan is doing amazing work for his age. Before the winter break, he participated in 30 elite games, including matches for Belgium on the international stage.”

Before joining PSV in 2019, Bakayoko was a member of the youth teams of Club Brugge, Mechelen, and Anderlecht.

Liverpool might be looking to add attackers next summer, but the club’s real objectives might not be apparent until the ownership has chosen a new manager and sporting director.

Rumor has it that the Reds are looking to replace Mohamed Salah, who is still wanted by the Saudi Pro League.

With his contract expiring in 2025, Al-Ittihad famously failed with a £150 million bid for the Egyptian last summer.
