To put an end to rumors about his future, McCausland has committed to a new, long-term deal.

Ross McCausland signed a new deal that runs until 2027, putting an end to rumors about his future with the Rangers.

The 20-year-old, who has started or come off the bench in every competitive game save one, has been one of Philippe Clement’s early breakout stars. His current contract was set to expire at the conclusion of this season, and according to Record Sport, Brentford was interested in signing him for the Premier League, while Serie A teams were also rumored to be interested.

If McCausland had gone without agreeing to a new contract, he would have been open for a sweet £350,00 compensation offer. However, the club has revealed he has signed a new contract, so any attempt to move him away from Ibrox will now need to be financially significant. He stated: “I’m extremely grateful to the new manager for giving me an opportunity in recent weeks, and I want to repay him and everyone at the club with my performances on the pitch in the years to come.”
