In Steven Gerrard’s first season as manager, the 26-year-old played for the Ibrox giants throughout the 2018–19 campaign.

Aitor Karanka, the Forest manager at the time, maintained that Worrall required more first-team experience before he could be considered a regular center back at the City Ground. Worrall played 22 league games during his stint with the Rangers after being assigned there.

There’s no denying the value of the former England U21 international’s Rangers tenure. After that, he developed into a crucial member of Forest’s defense and was named captain for the team’s inaugural Premier League campaign.

Expelled from Nottingham Forest training, former Rangers defender Joe Worrall captained the team in their opening five Premier League matches this year. For his effort against Chelsea in September, he even received accolades from BBC pundit Alan Shearer.

However, he has only contributed a pitiful 12 minutes to Steve Cooper’s team’s efforts in the last 10 league games for Forest, and he hasn’t shown up for five of them.

Additionally, Worrall and fellow defender and former Aberdeen rival Scott McKenna have been kicked out of Forest’s first team training, according to the Daily Mail.

Worrall, a former center back for Rangers, is rumored to be leaving Nottingham Forest during the forthcoming January transfer window, but from what we can tell, the Gers are not keen on having him return to the team.

Worrall’s transfer is not completely out of the question, though Rangers manager Philippe Clement may be focusing on center-back in January.

Although Clement’s primary central defensive choices are Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun, John Souttar, and Ben Davies, Rangers will need to find stronger long-term solutions if they hope to increase their prospects of overtaking Celtic in the Premiership title fight this season.
