At Ibrox, Gers will face the Dens Park team in an attempt to extend their Scottish Premiership winning streak to three games following Wednesday’s triumph against Hearts.

For the Rangers, the games are piling up right now, and they won’t let up until after the frantic Christmas and New Year’s break.

When athletes are getting hurt at an alarming rate, it makes matters worse. Nico Raskin, Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, Scott Wright, and Kieran Dowell were all already out for Rangers before their midweek match against Hearts.

Even though Barisic will start today’s match against Dundee, long-term injuries sustained by Danilo and Tom Lawrence in the Jambos’ victory raise further injury concerns.

After the winter break, neither player will be able to play again; Danilo’s knee injury necessitates surgery. For the match against Dundee, Clement has shuffled his starting lineup as much as possible, including benching Goldson.

“We have a lot of games—12 games in 37 days,” the Belgian revealed to BBC Sportsound, explaining why the English defender was benched today. Connor Goldson will not be starting today because of it.

Even if he is healthy and ready to go, we still have a long season ahead of us. While other players get a chance to shine, I need a minute to assess whether I can provide these guys with a break in between.

John Souttar has performed admirably during his training and games. Since this is his chance, I’d like to see a fully prepared squad, since that’s the only way to win all four events.

There will be a dramatic increase in injuries if we do that with eleven to fourteen guys. Unfortunately, I’d like to change that in the coming months and season so that my players are better prepared to play every three days. Right now, we have too many players for that to be feasible.
