After absorbing a vicious hit from Damontae Kazee, a defensive back for the Pittsburgh Steelers, wide receiver Michael Pittman of the Indianapolis Colts has been ruled out for the remainder of the game after suffering an injury.

Kazee was ultimately kicked out of the game as a result.

It didn’t take the Colts long to determine that Pittman would not be able to participate in the rest of the game.

In this vital AFC Wildcard matchup, the Colts have a 14-13 lead over the Steelers during the halftime break; but, they will be without their top receiving threat for the remainder of the game.

During the first half of the game, Pittman had been tearing through the Steelers’ defense. Prior to suffering a concussion, he successfully caught four passes for 78 yards.

The Colts and the Steelers both came into the game with a record of 7-6. Before dropping back-to-back games against teams that had already won two games, the Steelers appeared to be in a good position in the hunt for the AFC Wildcard. Both the Arizona Cardinals and the New England Patriots were able to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers at home.

After suffering a defeat at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals the previous week, the Colts witnessed the Bengals emerge victorious in overtime against the Minnesota Vikings by a score of 27-24.

With this victory, the Bengals moved up to 8-6, temporarily surpassing both the Steelers and the Colts. The victor of the battle between the Steelers and the Colts would take over a wildcard berth, and the Colts might catch up to the Jaguars at 8-6 if the Jaguars are defeated by the Baltimore Ravens, who are now in first place in the American Football Conference, on Sunday night.

When it comes to these efforts, the Colts will suffer a setback if they lose Pittman. Concussion protocol will continue to be followed by him throughout the week. Pittman is expected to make a speedy recovery and be able to play against the Atlanta Falcons the following week, which Indianapolis is hoping will happen.
