The Philadelphia Eagles fumbled Monday Night Football’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, despite their best efforts to snap a two-game losing streak. Even though the Philadelphia Eagles were given first place in the NFC East due to the Dallas Cowboys’ loss to the Buffalo Bills, they promptly lost it again on the road in the final seconds.

The Eagles were in the lead the whole game until they let Drew Lock to score on his final drive. They went up 20–17 after Jaxon Smith–Njigba scored a touchdown. In a frantic attempt to retaliate, Jalen Hurts threw the Eagles’ second pick of the game, and they have now lost three games in a row.

Overall, they’re doing well at 10-4. The loss, though, may have caused these three players to feel that the fragile ice beneath them is beginning to break.

wide receiver Quez Watkins

It seems possible that Quez Watkins sealed his doom on Monday. No receptions were recorded by the once-promising wide out in the game against Seattle, continuing a troubling trend. Although the Seahawks were able to avoid a penalty, he missed a golden opportunity to seize the ball and did not even try to defend it. Inside The Iggles’ Geoffrey Knox notes that whenever Watkins gets singled out, terrible things tend to happen.

“Indeed, he was impeded. If you’re Quez Watkins, you have to get back on the pitch and stop Julian Love from intercepting the ball—even though the authorities botched the call. Somehow, Quez has never figured that out. Among all of things, this is the most unfortunate aspect. Looking back, we can’t recall the last occasion when he received a pass and a positive outcome occurred.

Even though he just caught one pass for six yards, Julio Jones is still with the club. Even though he isn’t as good as he once was, he must always start instead of Watkins.
