Of course, there’s still the worry that Mohamed Salah would leave the team despite Saudi Arabia’s strong desire. Liverpool will need to bring in a tried-and-true right-wing replacement if he is to depart Anfield at the end of current campaign.
The speculation mill is already in full swing, and Rapinha of Barcelona is one player the Reds have been connected to. The Brazilian paid £55 million to join the Catalonians from Leeds United in the summer, but his departure is currently the subject of much discussion.
According to a recent Football Insider story, Barcelona has now made Raphinha available to the market and is willing to take a lower offer in order to close a deal for the summer. The winger from Barcelona will apparently be available for a sum of between £40 and £50 million, which is significantly less than what they originally paid for him.
However, Liverpool is not the only one with this desire.As they all want to bolster their offensive lines at the end of the campaign, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also contenders for Raphinha. Luis Díaz was rumored to be headed out of Spain as part of an agreed-upon swap deal, but Football Insider has disproved this theory and stated that Liverpool has no plans to carry this out.
With 11 goals and three assists in his final season with Leeds, the 26-year-old is a tried and tested player in the Premier League. In his first season at Barcelona, Raphinha also finished with 10 goals and 12 assists in all competitions. He made an impression on his teammates while he was at Leeds, and Daniel James gave him credit for being a “magician” who is capable of doing “absolutely anything on the pitch.”
